Oxford Lieder Spring Weekend of Song: A Schubertiade

Sunday, 11 March 2018 - 7:30pm
£30 Gallery; £25 Front Stalls; £10 Rear Stalls; £5 Under-35s (Rear Stalls only)

Some of Schubert's great masterpieces are rarely heard thanks only to the unusual forces required: often quartets of male or female voices. Tonight, a team of eight outstanding singers, including voices well known to Oxford Lieder audiences, join Oxford Lieder’s artistic director, Sholto Kynoch, for an evening of convivial music making that includes many of these works, as well as solo songs and other partsongs, in an informal, salon-style event akin to the gatherings of Schubert and his friends. Song, wine, partsongs and dances draw our Spring Weekend to an uplifting close.
