Twenty five years of music from the JdP Music Building

Over the last 25 years, the Jacqueline du Pré Music Building (the JdP) has secured its position as one of the finest venues in the country for chamber music, and as a hub of creativity contributing to the cultural life of both the University and Oxfordshire.

With the constant use of the concert hall, practice rooms, and the musical instruments, we urgently need your help in maintaining and refurbishing the instruments and facilities in the JdP for future enjoyment. Thanks to the generosity of the JdP Music Circle, so far we have been able to renovate the Steinway A piano, and sound proof one of the Practice Rooms.

To ensure that the JdP continues to play a vital role at the heart of the music scene in Oxfordshire and remains a fitting memorial to the acclaimed cellist, Jacqueline du Pré, we invite support from those who care about access to music and musical education to work with us to develop the programme and facilities at the JdP to benefit future generations of musicians and performers.

Supporting Us

By supporting our Concert Series you enable us to provide opportunities for students and families through the lunchtime recital series, cushion concerts, schools concerts and concerts for people with dementia. If you would like to further support our activities at the JdP Music Building, we welcome donations to the College. Your donation could go towards a refurbishment project or to sponsor a specific concert or programme. Current refurbishment projects that we require support for include a new bar to provide a better experience for our audience members and acoustic treatment of practice rooms. Please visit the Donation page to make a donation to the JdP Fund. Alternatively, you can contact the Manager.

The JdP Team welcomes all non-financial help from our supporters. In particular we are looking for members of our audience to act as ambassadors for the JdP Music Building and help us to engage with a larger audience base. We also welcome volunteers for concert stewarding and community projects. Voluntary help with fundraising projects, or any other initiative is also very welcome, and can be carried out on an informal basis. Please contact the Manager if you would like to assist the work of the JdP.
